Level 2 – KRC Training Calendar
The Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India has approved Gramalaya as one of the National Key Resource Centers (KRC) under the Jal Jeevan Mission by the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation for providing training and capacity-building support to Government Officials and PRIs working in the water supply. Earlier we were approved as KRC from 2014-2019 for Water and Sanitation.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission we have as a Key Resource Center we will be giving training for Level II and Level III. For Level 2, Middle management level we will be providing training to officers from DWSM officials, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, Water Utility Managers, and Water Testing laboratory personnel from Public Health and Engineering Departments (PHEDs)/ Rural Water Supply (RWS) departments/ Public Works Departments (PWDs), etc. of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamilnadu states and Union Territory of Puducherry. This year the training for Level 2 officials will be online mode for two days with three hours sessions on each day.
This financial year we will be giving five training in batches of 50 participants in each batch on both the topics.
- Operation and Maintenance of Distribution System for Effective Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) Adopting Water Audit, Budgeting with ToT Technique.
- Grey Water Treatment and Reuse at Community Level.
For Level 3 at Community level we will be providing training to Elected Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) Members, Gram Panchayat (GP) Officials, VWSC Members, Members of Implementation Support Agencies (ISAs), etc. of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamilnadu states and Union Territories of Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
For Level 3 there will be 4 days residential training within the district. The First day will be preparatory phase of RWSS with the following topics:
Importance of safe water and hygiene
Introducing JJMA
A Opportunities, Roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in planning & implementation
A Enabling Environment – development of responsible & responsive leadership
A Water Quality monitoring and surveillance
The Second day sessions will be on Planning phase of RWSS with the following topics:
Community Participation
A Village Action Plan
A Planning & Design
A Briefing for field visit
A Water Quality monitoring and surveillance
The Second day sessions will be on Planning The Third day sessions will be Field Exposure Visit to the model villages and selected works of RWSS:
- Full day Field Exposure Visit
- End of the day debriefing session will be conducted
- The Fourth day sessions will be on Implementation phase of RWSS with the following topics:
Overseeing of water supply infrastructure during construction by community
A Post implementation monitoring
A GP as a Utility for decentralized management of drinking water systems
A Har Ghar Jal Village declaration protocol
A Debriefing on field exposure visit
The four-day residential training session will be concluded with the review and feedback on the training from the participants.
